Dean Butters serves as Principal and Partner at Banyan Development Partners. With over 20 years of real estate expertise in the Midwest and South Florida, he has established himself as a seasoned real estate developer dedicated to enhancing communities, businesses and non-profit organizations by optimizing their real estate assets to achieve their highest and best use.
Dean's interest in commercial real estate was ignited by his education in the Real Estate Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and further fueled by his experience as a commercial real estate broker.
Following his successful brokerage career, Dean spent twelve years building and managing a substantial real estate portfolio of over 1,000,000 square feet for a large non-profit organization. Since relocating to Palm Beach County, Florida, in 2017, he has made significant contributions in development roles at both Hedrick Brothers Construction and Collins Development Company.
At Hedrick Brothers, he established the development division and was instrumental in planning, financing, and constructing Watson Hall, a 163,000 square foot student residence at Palm Beach Atlantic University. During his tenure at Collins Development, he collaborated with Busch Wildlife to entitle a 20-acre property in Jupiter Farms, spearheaded complex entitlements for a 17-unit luxury townhome development along the Intracoastal Waterway in Martin County, and assisted clients in entitling office, educational, and retail properties.
Dean is an active member of the Palm Beach County Business Development Board, the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County, and the University of Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association. He resides in Jupiter with his wife, Rachael, and their two children. In addition to work and family life, Dean enjoys reading and fitness.
